Hello and welcome to our corner of the blogging world! Back when I was a full time wedding photographer, blogging was one of the tasks I liked the most. I enjoyed telling the stories behind the photos and sharing different aspects of the wedding. Hence the reason we’re here, I wanted to share the stories of the clients we get to serve and showcase some of the homes we sell. We’ll discuss all things real estate and home ownership PLUS lots of great info on things to do and places to eat and visit all around the Indianapolis area and Central Indiana. Maybe even some crazy real estate stories for fun!
I’m going to introduce you to my team and share with you what makes each of them so important to The Loya Group.
Kim –
In the summer of 2017, my husband had a job opportunity with Eli Lilly that moved our family to the Indianapolis metro area of Zionsville. I’ve been married to Phillip for 23 years and we have 3 sons. Our oldest is attending Purdue University and our youngerst two attend Zionsville Community High School. As a lifelong California girl, the thought of moving to the Midwest was daunting but exciting! While house hunting, we kept coming back to a specific house in Zionsville. Back at our previous home in Los Angeles, we lived near a busy road so the idea of my boys being able to run around with their friends was something I could’ve only dreamed of! When we initially toured this house, it was a warm July afternoon and the neighborhood was fairly quiet. While I did see a lot of playsets in backyards, I couldn’t really get a good feel for what the neighborhood was like. We came back the next day to explore the area and while we sat in the rental car we prayed for a sign. Across the street, I noticed a lady outside watering her flowers. Now, I have never been accused of being shy so I went over to chat with her. She was incredibly nice and gave me the run down of the neighborhood, it’s location and why she loved living in Zionsville! That sealed the deal for us and that house has been our home for going on 8 years!
Rashelle –
Remember the nice lady watering her flowers? It just so happened to be Rashelle! Rashelle has been married to her husband, Eric, for 17 years and is the mom of 3 boys – 2 young adults and one son at Western Boone High School. Rashelle was born and raised in Boone County, Indiana. Aside from being the most competitive woman I’ve ever met, Rashelle loves to travel, is a huge fan of the TV show Matlock, and is our resident expert on the Amish. She has been a licensed real estate agent for over a decade and brings a lot of wisdom and calm to the team. What I appreciate the most about Rashelle is her ability to problem solve. So much of real estate is working through the inevitable curve balls of a transaction. Whether it’s timing, inspection responses or crafting a competitive offer, Rashelle’s ability to keep calm and think outside of the box keeps her clients best interest at the forefront.
Jen-
One of the Midwest things I learned to love was the ringing doorbell with neighborhood kids asking my boys to come outside and play. They would disappear for hours and I often couldn’t find them for dinner! One of the regular visitors to our door was a super chatty kid named Wyatt. He lived around the corner and would sit at my kitchen island, talking my ear off about the Chicago White Sox. Once I located his mother, Jennifer, we hit it off instantly. Jen was born and raised in the Chicago area which (sadly) means she is a huge Bears and White Sox fan (Let’s all take a moment of silence while I put our Dodger flag on our porch and watch Jen cry about how awful the Sox are!) Jen has been married to Tim for 31 years and has 3 young adult daughters (one in Indy, one in Chicago and one in Washington DC) and Wyatt is now a junior at Covenant Christian High School. Jen is witty and sarcastic and makes the best lasagna I’ve ever had. I love that Jennifer can lighten stressful real estate situations with her humor, while coming up with solutions that benefit her clients.
Lauren –
When I was contemplating a career in real estate, I was connected with another neighbor who was on the same journey. Enter Lauren Goodman. Lauren was raised in West Lafayette and married her husband Austin in the summer of 2009. They have 4 kids – 3 boys, sweet princess Lucy, two dogs and a bearded dragon. Lauren and her family are avid Purdue fans and hope one of their 4 kiddos will attend one day. Lauren is one of the kindest humans you’ll ever meet. She brings an enormous amount of care and thoughtfulness to each transaction. She is an incredible listener and her clients comment that they appreciate her ability to truly listen to what they need and help guide them to the best decision.
The Loya Group –
The Loya Group started to take shape in the fall of 2019, when I made the decision to pursue my real estate license. Back in my college days, I worked for a real estate appraiser and real estate was something that had always intrigued me. After a lot of discussion with my husband, my family and a few So Cal realtors, I decided to study for my real estate license. Shortly after that, world shut down and I had the ability to focus my attention on getting my real estate license. And while I started on a team, I always knew I would form my own team one day. I’m often asked what I love about real estate and that’s always a hard question to answer! There are a lot of aspects I enjoy but I think what makes it all worth it is ithe time I get to spend with people, helping them find their perfect home to make their “happy place”.
Loving where you live is so important and The Loya Group is honored to be a part of helping our clients find the place to call HOME.
We can’t wait to help you find the home you create the memories in!
